Hi,
This program is very good and I like it very much. But.... I have a problem with my Tungsten E when zooming.
When the graphiti anywhere option is activated a zooming action generates a crash with the following message:
SysEvtMgr.c, Line 1409, Pen q out of Sync
If I disable the option in the preference the software works fine.

Hi Fred,
Thanks for the info. I assume you are zooming
by drawing gestures '^' and 'v'. I'll try to fix the
problem if anything can be done to resove the
conflict.

I confirm the use of '^' and 'v' to zoom.
I have the problem with both 1.5 and 1.6 version.

I’ve installed your viewer on my Palm (Tungsten C OSv5).
I am trying to view TIF files.

When I try to convert TIF files that I have created from my scanner it comes up with error “unknown field with tag 37677 (0x932d) ignore……” and then “VIDIVC converter error – failed to convert the input image into Palm format”.

Also is it meant to read pdf files? because it refuses to!

When I convert another TIF file that came from elsewhere it works but as I’m trying to pan around the image on the Palm and tap and move the stylus near the edge of the screen it comes up with the following error box – “FATAL ALERT – SysEvtMgr.c,Line:1409, Pen q out of sync – RESET”

I then have to reboot the Palm.

Is there any solution to either problem?

I really need to read TIF files that I write myself either from Microsoft Imaging (scanner) or from my Peernet TIF file printer driver.

HELP please?

Hello Daniel,

You can read the PDF files but it is a little bit complicated, so I do not consider this a useful feature.
You'll need to install ghostscript
( read here http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ ).
You'll also need to read ImageMagic libraries documentation (better just to download and install the libs) to have an example of the configuration file that tells ImageMagic how to use ghostscript. You might need to tune the ghostscript execution options to fit your needs, since in multipage documents only the last page shows up as the converted image and the pages are too wide. The ImageMagic libs are statically linked to the converter. The converter will look for the configuration file in the directory it is running in and in the system folder (not sure if I remember this correctly, so if you are still interested I might have to verify this).

The TIFF images might be a problem. Please e-mail me an image that fails to convert and I'll see if anything can be done in the next release.

As for the crash, it is mentioned in this thread that "graffity anywhere" option might cause the problem but I do not have access to any Tunsgten PDA now for testing and debugging the problem. In the meantime using buttons might be the only option.

I've emailed you 3 files - a government produced TIF that works, my TIF print of the same file that doesn't convert to Palm and a scanned TIF that also doesn't convert.

Look forward to your analysis.
