Title: Desktop Bug Reports Post by Ou_Boet on Sep 1st, 2004, 11:19am Just thought that I'd mension that when converting files using the desktop app, the "reduce size" option seems to have no effect. All my pics convert at full size regardless of the reduction factor specified. I also noticed that there is no 25% option, which would be handy for me. Cheers OB |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug in VDI Post by Denis Bakin on Sep 1st, 2004, 8:04pm Make sure you set the desired resize value before hitting the "down arrow" (convert button). After the coversion the converted image preview should show smaller image accordingly to the value set. If this does not work let me know your version of Windows and I'll se if I can reproduce it. Thanks, |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug in VDI Post by Ou_Boet on Sep 2nd, 2004, 3:50pm Denis I've been using the correct procedure to reduce images but still can't get it right. After pressing the down arrow the image displays smaller in the little view box but the dimensions reported to the left are the same as for the original. Needless to say, the full size and reduced size files are the same after saving (or installing to PDA). Using Windows NT SP6. OB |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug in VDI Post by Ou_Boet on Sep 20th, 2004, 3:37pm Dennis Finally got back to the office. First thing I did was load the new version this morning and do some testing. I'm happy to report that the reduce function now works fine. (Though a 25% option would still be handy) Thanks OB |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug Reports Post by Ou_Boet on Sep 21st, 2004, 10:54am Dennis I was getting some "file corrupt" type messages while trying to view pics with VDI on my handheld. Through a process of elimination and with some luck I think that I've found a limitation with PalmOS. Files that have a double extention, seem to confuse VDI, eg, a file with the name photo.jpg.pdb often wont open and I get the corrupt data message. Sometimes renaming solves the problem, other times I've got to reconvert using VDI desk top. Can you verify this on your device? The reason I've listed this as a desk top bug is because the desk top defaults to using the original file name (including extention) as the new file name. So unless you edit the file name the new file will always be in the form "photo.jpg.pdb" which my unit has a problem with. Thanks OB |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug Reports Post by Denis Bakin on Sep 22nd, 2004, 6:30pm Hi, I can try. I have access to Tungsten W2. I assume you are writing about opening images from a flash card? Can you send me the original JPEG and the converted PDBs both one that works and that doesn't (please make sure to send the files directly from the flash card). Thanks, |

Title: Re: Desktop Bug Reports Post by Ou_Boet on Sep 23rd, 2004, 11:02am Dennis It didn't seem to matter if the file was on my card or in RAM, and the problem is not 100% constant. Sometimes it does work, but often not. I'll make a few files test and then send them during the day sometime. OB |
